• I have 14 years’ experience of translating, 7 of which were spent translating laws and regulations for the State Language Centre, Riga, Latvia (from 2007-2013).

  • Work has included translation of Latvian legislation (Cabinet Regulations, Cabinet Orders, laws), to comply with the Latvian Ministry of Justice and EU Commission requirements, using EU Directives and other authorised translations as reference material.

  • Topics have covered a wide range, including: energy, agriculture and fisheries, social services, employment rights, financial management, genetically modified organisms, transport, and others.

  • Additional commissions have included the translation of several books on specialist topics, such as knitting traditions in the Varkava region (please see full list below). 

  • Most recently, since 2016, I have proofread publications in the English language, for the Latvian Institute of International Affairs and the Foreign Investors' Council of Latvia (please see "Portfolio" section).
